Lenguas afuera

Language acquires weight, suspension, and a physical limit.

About the project

Books donated by the Stonewall Museum are reassembled with wood, yarn, and cord. Bound into suspended forms, their pages become bodies: carriers of knowledge that are also subject to pressure, restraint, and transformation.

Developed for A Particularly Vicious Tongue, the series connects voice, queer memory, and censorship. The physical effort of holding together becomes inseparable from the struggle to speak.
